Samaresh Majumdar was born.  In 1942, Bengal 1347 Falgun 26th.  He spent his childhood in the tea garden of Dwars.  He spent his school life in Jalpaiguri.  In 1970.  He came to Calcutta to study in college.  MA in Bengali from Calcutta University.  He started writing stories from group theater and drama writing.  The first story was published in 1986.  The first novel, Daur, was published in 1975.  Each of his novels is free from the monotony of subject matter, storytelling style and formality.  This is why the readers of Bengali literature have welcomed him almost for the first time.  The Ananda Award in 1972, various awards for his storytelling in the film 'Daur' and the Sahitya Akademi Award for his novel 'Kalbela U Panyas' in 1974 are unquestionable recognition of his unique literary work.
